Deciding between the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro involves weighing factors like price, gaming features, and design aesthetics. The Strix G17 tends to be less expensive and offers a high refresh rate for smooth gaming, with slightly better performance for engineering tasks and machine learning, but it's heavier, making it less portable. The Legion 5 Pro, while often pricier, has a more powerful graphics card, better screen contrast, and weighs less for easier carrying. Both laptops have similar storage, RAM, and screen size, but the Legion's slightly superior portability and graphics might sway gamers who also need to move around. Give Feedback

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
