The ASUS ROG Strix G17, being more expensive, offers superior performance suited for intensive gaming, engineering tasks, and 3D/machine learning due to a more powerful processor and graphics card, more memory, and higher storage capacity. It also boasts a higher refresh rate display for smoother visuals, although it's less portable and has a shorter battery life. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is more affordable with modest performance suitable for general use and non-intensive engineering applications. It has a longer battery life and is lighter, making it more portable, but it has less memory and a lower resolution screen without the high-end graphics capabilities of the ASUS. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both good for general use, though the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is somewhat better.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 stands out for general use with its powerful AMD Ryzen 9 processor and 16GB RAM, along with a high-res screen, making demanding tasks and multitasking seamless, but it is less portable with a heftier weight and a lower battery life. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 offers decent performance for everyday tasks with a Ryzen 5 processor and 8GB RAM, it's more portable due to its lighter weight and longer battery life, but might not handle intensive applications as smoothly, and has a lower resolution and smaller storage capacity..

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a high-resolution display and bright panel, making it excellent for daily tasks and detail-oriented engineering work, but its slower refresh rate is less ideal for fast-paced gaming. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a decent resolution and brightness, suitable for everyday use and engineering, but like the ASUS, its refresh rate isn't geared towards the smooth visuals demanded by gaming and 3D applications. Both laptops' screens lack the wide color gamuts that professional design work would benefit from, but offer sufficient quality for most general and engineering needs.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
