The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is less expensive with a robust AMD processor and an Nvidia RTX 4060, which makes it suitable for demanding tasks like gaming and some engineering applications. It has a large 17.3-inch screen with a high refresh rate and good color coverage, but its large size and lower battery life make it less portable. The Gigabyte Aorus 15P has a more powerful Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU and double the RAM, which is great for 3D, machine learning, and engineering work, but it comes at a higher price. It's more portable due to its smaller 15.6-inch screen and longer battery life, yet the display has a lower resolution and less color accuracy compared to the ASUS. Choose the ASUS for a budget-friendly option with a larger screen and satisfactory performance or the Gigabyte for higher performance and portability at a higher price. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 15P for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a vibrant display with high resolution and brightness, making text sharp and colors pop, which is less prominent on the Gigabyte Aorus 15P. When it comes to tasks like engineering and design, the ASUS edges out the Gigabyte with better coverage of the professional color gamuts, ensuring more accurate color reproduction which is crucial for detailed work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fluid motion is key, both laptops fall short due to lower refresh rates, which could lead to less smooth visuals in fast-paced scenarios.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Gigabyte Aorus 15P compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The Aorus 15P is a high-end gaming laptop with fast 360 Hz display. Gaming performance in the Aorus 15P YD is very high thanks to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 installed here. However, with the use of the Intel Core i7-11800H, CPU performance also closes in on the strong competition from AMD. SSD performance is excellent as well, and it leaves no room for criticism. Thanks to the built-in Intel Core i7-11800H, the system performance of the Aorus 15P YD increases significantly."
