The ASUS ROG Strix G17, typically more affordable than the Gigabyte Aero 17, is a solid choice for gaming with robust performance but may be heavier and less suited for travel. The Gigabyte Aero 17, while costing more, offers a balance between performance for creative tasks like 3D and video editing, due to its high-quality display and powerful components, and still maintains some degree of portability. Both laptops should handle general use and engineering applications well, but battery life can be a concern; gaming and high-performance laptops often have shorter battery life compared to models designed for efficiency. Consider how much you value the screen quality, battery life, and portability against the cost and intended primary use when making your decision. Give Feedback

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Gigabyte Aero 17 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"Not only is the Aero 17 a very good laptop for gamers but also for content creators. With the upgrade to the Intel Core i9-11980HK, Gigabyte particularly improved the system performance. In addition, the hardware package is rounded by the extremely fast SSD and 32 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode. Compared to the predecessor, the battery life is reduced only moderately, and the 4K display also basically keeps its good qualities."
