The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers excellent performance with high-quality graphics, making it suitable for intensive engineering tasks, 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming. However, it's less portable given its larger size and heavier weight compared to the Dell Inspiron 15 3511. The Dell laptop, on the other hand, is much more affordable and offers decent performance for general use or less demanding tasks, with the added benefit of better portability due to its lighter weight and smaller size. The tradeoff lies between superior performance and gaming capabilities of the ASUS at a higher cost and reduced mobility, versus the Dell's affordability, everyday performance, and convenience for on-the-go use. Choose the ASUS if performance and gaming are priorities, or the Dell if budget and portability matter more. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a high-resolution display and superior color accuracy essential for engineering and design tasks, but its lower refresh rate is less optimal for gaming where fast motion is common. On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 15 3511's fair screen quality across the board indicates that it has a balanced mix of resolution and brightness suitable for everyday tasks and some design work, but it may lack the advanced color gamuts and high refresh rate demanded by professional design applications and competitive gaming. For gaming and 3D, the importance of a high refresh rate means both models may not provide the smooth experience desired in fast-paced visual environments.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 (3511) is a solid, if unremarkable, 15-inch budget laptop. It improves on many of the issues we had with the previous 3505 model, and with the inclusion of Windows 11, the 3511 is already a step above its competition. The lack of a USB-C port, the subpar speakers, and the dim display are drawbacks to factor in, but it's still one of the better 15-inch budget laptops on the market, especially when you consider it's under $400."
