The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers powerful performance for gaming and engineering tasks with a high refresh rate display, but it's less portable due to its larger size and weight. On the other hand, the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 boasts a superior screen with higher resolution and color accuracy, making it ideal for creative professionals who prioritize display quality. It's also more compact, offering better portability at a slightly higher price. If gaming and heavy computational tasks are your focus, and you don't mind the size, go for the ROG Strix G17. But if screen quality and portability matter more, especially for tasks like video editing, consider the ZenBook Pro Duo 15. Give Feedback

The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is very good for general use, while the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is good.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 ranks higher for general use due to its superior screen quality with a higher resolution OLED display and touchscreen capability, double the RAM for smoother multitasking, and a slim form factor enhancing portability and battery life. In contrast, the ASUS ROG Strix G17, while more suitable for gaming with a high refresh rate display and powerful CPU, falls short in portability and battery life due to its larger size, and the screen, despite being good quality, can't match the ZenBook's OLED panel.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 15 for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 15 has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 and ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 both offer high-resolution displays with bright panels, making them excellent for general tasks that require crisp and clear visuals. Their wide color gamuts ensure accurate color representation beneficial for engineering and design work that demands precision in color-critical applications. However, for 3D tasks, the importance shifts towards a high refresh rate, which both of these laptops lack, leading to less smooth visuals that can detract from fast-paced gaming or 3D rendering experiences.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 to be excellent for engineering and design, while the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is very good.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 boasts a powerful AMD Ryzen CPU and Nvidia RTX GPU, making it a strong choice for engineering tasks, but its larger size and 17.3-inch high-refresh-rate screen may limit its portability. In contrast, the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15, with its Intel i9 CPU, Nvidia RTX GPU, and a smaller 15.6-inch OLED touchscreen with superior color coverage, provides exceptional screen quality and a more compact form factor, albeit with potentially lower battery life due to the high-resolution display.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"Benchmarks aside, the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is hard to compare with other PCs. Its closest competition may be a multi-monitor desktop, or a laptop with an attached travel monitor. The Pro Duo is more portable and versatile than either of those options, especially with the software tools Asus has thrown on top. For a certain niche of artists, media creators, and gamers, all that might add up to something special, even if it’s unattainable for the rest of us."
