The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is designed for gaming and high-performance tasks, offering powerful graphics and fast processors, ideal if you need top-notch performance for gaming, 3D design, or video editing. However, it's heavier and may have shorter battery life, making it less portable. The ASUS Vivobook S 15 is more suitable for general use, with a balance between performance and portability, and typically offers longer battery life. If you need a laptop for everyday tasks like browsing, office work, and media consumption, and value portability, the Vivobook would be a sensible choice. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook S 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering screen quality for general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a high-resolution display with strong brightness and a panel type that provides crisp and vivid visuals, outperforming the ASUS Vivobook S 15 which has a lower brightness and resolution, making it less ideal for tasks like browsing and watching videos. For engineering and design, the ROG Strix G17's display covers a wider range of color gamuts, ensuring more accurate color representation for professional photo editing or CAD work, compared to the Vivobook S 15 that provides fair but not optimal color coverage. As for gaming and 3D tasks, the Vivobook S 15 falls short due to lackluster refresh rates that might not deliver the smooth visuals gamers seek, while the ROG Strix G17's screen also underperforms for gaming because despite its good resolution and panel type, it doesn't offer the high refresh rates required for the most fluid gaming experience.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the ASUS Vivobook S 15 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"Internals make Asus VivoBook S15 laptop a compelling option. The Asus multimedia laptop may look rather below-average with its modest black chassis, lack of a dedicated GPU, limited RAM and meagre port selection without Thunderbolt support. But your impression of the device will start changing once you set your eyes on its high-contrast OLED capable of producing deep blacks and highly accurate colours. And your opinion will change completely when the VivoBook is switched on. The AMD CPU can effortlessly keep up with powerful rivals from Intel. The integrated Radeon graphics blows away Intel's iGPU when it comes to graphics workloads such as rendering and simpler games."
