The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is better suited for intensive tasks like gaming, 3D rendering, or engineering, offering a high-performance processor and graphics card. However, this laptop is heavier, thicker, and has lower portability, making it less ideal for frequent travel. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 is more budget-friendly, lightweight, and portable with longer battery life, making it a good fit for general use and carrying around. Its performance is suited for everyday tasks but may not handle demanding software as efficiently as the Strix. Neither is a touch screen, but the Strix has a larger, faster, and higher quality display, which will be appreciated for multimedia and detailed work, while the Vivobook has a decent screen for general use. The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 likely offers a high resolution and bright display valuable for general use and engineering, including robust color gamuts ensuring accurate color representation for designers. However, despite these qualities, the screen's lower refresh rate could hinder the smooth visuals critical for Gaming and 3D applications where fast-paced movements are common. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook Go 14's screen, while adequate for everyday tasks and casual design work with fair resolution and brightness, lacks the high-end color accuracy for professional engineering and the high refresh rate desired for Gaming and 3D.

"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The lack of a backlit keyboard in this price segment shouldn't sway the buyer the other way. However, it still comes down to user preference. The Vivobook Go 14 is a decent laptop in an extremely competitive price segment. A few omissions are a part of the balancing to reach the price segment. The Asus Vivobook Go 14 is a rare find when it comes to the price to performance ratio."
