When comparing the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and G18, if you're looking for the latest features and improvements in performance for gaming or heavy tasks, the G18 is likely to deliver better results. However, if you're budget-conscious and the G17 meets your requirements for everyday use and gaming, it may be a more cost-effective choice. Remember, newer models usually have a price premium for the latest technology, and in the case of laptops, this often includes enhancements in processing power, graphics, and possibly battery life. The G17 may still offer excellent performance, particularly if the games or applications you use don't necessitate cutting-edge hardware. Keep in mind the weight and size for portability; larger and more powerful laptops are typically heavier, which can be a downside if you travel frequently. Give Feedback

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
