The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is better suited for gaming due to its higher refresh rate display, while the Gigabyte Aero 16 offers superior screen quality with its OLED display, making it better for tasks like photo editing which benefit from its higher resolution and color accuracy. The Aero 16 also has a larger battery, potentially leading to longer battery life, but it comes at a slightly higher weight, which could impact portability. Both have similar storage capacity and RAM, but if top-notch graphics are necessary, particularly for 3D or machine learning applications, the Aero 16's more powerful GPU provides an advantage. For budget-conscious customers, the ASUS offers strong performance at a midrange price, but remember the Gigabyte packs more features for creative professionals in need of high screen fidelity. The Gigabyte Aero 16 has a better screen than the ASUS ROG Strix G15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS ROG Strix G15 offers a balance of resolution and brightness suitable for general tasks, and its color reproduction is decent for engineering and design work, but the lower refresh rate reduces gaming and 3D application smoothness. The Gigabyte Aero 16, with a brighter and higher resolution display, enhances daily computing and professional design experiences with superior color accuracy, attracting those in engineering and design, yet like the ASUS, the lower refresh rate isn't ideal for gaming or 3D content where frames per second are crucial. Both laptops sacrifice high refresh rates for screen qualities that cater more to professional creatives and everyday users rather than gamers or 3D enthusiasts.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Gigabyte Aero 16 to be very good for general use, while the ASUS ROG Strix G15 is good.
The ASUS ROG Strix G15 offers solid general-use capabilities with its powerful AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and sufficient RAM, though its portability and battery life are just adequate, which might not suit those constantly on the move. Conversely, the Gigabyte Aero 16 stands out with its superior screen quality and larger battery, combined with a formidable Intel i7 CPU, but its added screen size and higher-quality materials slightly reduce its portability.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G15 and the Gigabyte Aero 16 compare to other laptops
"The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a successful high-performance 15-inch laptop. The Asus ROG Strix impresses with an elaborate design and fast hardware. The latter can unleash its potential well in the large 15-inch case and achieve a decent performance boost compared to the previous generation. Especially the stunning 300 Hz display as well as the RTX 3070 and its generous TDP give gamers their money's worth. Asus didn't neglect seemingly small details, either, such as the keyboard and the maintenance options. The ROG Strix G15 offers a lot of pure performance and excellent workmanship in a 15-inch format, but connectivity leaves something to be desired."
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
