The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a solid choice for those who prioritize performance in gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks, thanks to its powerful AMD Ryzen 9 processor and Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU. It offers a faster 144Hz refresh rate, which is great for smooth gaming experiences, and has a decent battery life of around 5.5 hours for general use. However, it's a bit heavier and thicker, which might affect its portability. It also has an IPS display with a lower resolution compared to the Vivobook, but it covers a wider DCI-P3 color space, making it suitable for tasks that require color accuracy. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED is ideal for those who value a vibrant display with high resolution and color accuracy, which is excellent for media consumption and light photo editing. The OLED screen technology provides deep blacks and vibrant colors. It's also more portable due to its thinner and lighter design, and it comes with Windows 11 Home pre-installed. The Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Intel Arc 8-Cores GPU won't match the gaming and engineering performance of the ROG Strix G15, but they are sufficient for general use and some light gaming. It has a higher-quality webcam and a more comprehensive set of ports, including two USB-C ports, though none support Thunderbolt. In summary, if performance in intensive tasks and gaming is your priority and you don't mind a bulkier design, the ROG Strix G15 is the way to go. However, if you want a more portable laptop with an exceptional display for everyday tasks and casual use, the Vivobook S 16 OLED is the better option. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Marius Schell | February 2021
"The ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a successful high-performance 15-inch laptop. The Asus ROG Strix impresses with an elaborate design and fast hardware. The latter can unleash its potential well in the large 15-inch case and achieve a decent performance boost compared to the previous generation. Especially the stunning 300 Hz display as well as the RTX 3070 and its generous TDP give gamers their money's worth. Asus didn't neglect seemingly small details, either, such as the keyboard and the maintenance options. The ROG Strix G15 offers a lot of pure performance and excellent workmanship in a 15-inch format, but connectivity leaves something to be desired."
