The ASUS ROG Flow Z13, with its premium features, is ideal for those looking for a high-performance and highly portable device suited for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, but it comes at a higher price. Its touchscreen and lightweight design offer versatility, though the battery life is shorter. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 offers good performance at a lower price, with a larger screen and a significantly longer battery life, making it a great option for general use and multimedia purposes. However, it is heavier and less convenient for frequent travel. Both have ample power for gaming and creative tasks, but the decision hinges on whether portability and touchscreen capability or screen size and battery longevity are more critical to your needs. The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13's display boasts higher resolution and brightness, making text and images crisp and easy to view in various lighting conditions. Engineers and designers would appreciate the ASUS's wider color gamut coverage, providing more accurate colors for their projects. However, gamers seeking smooth visuals will find the lower refresh rate on both the ASUS and Lenovo models less ideal for high-speed gaming, where screen fluidity is crucial.

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 excels in general use due to its high-end CPU, ample RAM, superior touch-enabled screen quality, and high portability resulting from its lightweight design and detachable keyboard that allows it to double as a tablet, although at the cost of shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 also offers substantial RAM and a capable CPU for general use tasks, in a larger form factor with a screen that forgoes touch capability, and it balances that with a longer-lasting battery and lower portability due to increased weight.

How the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet with powerful Alder Lake i9 CPU. The ROG Flow Z13 impresses with its good cooling. After our review, the impression is predominantly positive. Besides a very fast Alder Lake CPU and stable gaming performance, especially the cooling system is surprisingly effective and quiet. You can use the integrated speakers without any issues while gaming. The 1200p display in the 16:10 format also impresses with good color reproduction and high brightness. Since the battery runtimes aren't particularly long as it is, we wouldn't recommend the optional 4K panel."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
