The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is more portable and has a better portability score, with a smaller screen and lighter weight, making it suitable for those on the go. It features a touch-enabled display with high brightness, making it versatile for different environments. On the other hand, the HP Omen 17 is less portable due to its larger screen and heavier weight, but it has a stronger GPU, which could be beneficial for more intensive 3D tasks, machine learning, and gaming. Both laptops have similar battery lives and are equally equipped for general use. The ASUS has a slightly higher price but compensates with its higher portability and touch screen. If you prioritize gaming or intensive engineering tasks, the HP Omen 17 may better meet your needs; however, if mobility and touch functionality are more important, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 would be a better fit. The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has a better screen than the HP Omen 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has a high-resolution display with impressive color accuracy, making it excellent for tasks like document editing and photo editing, which are typical in general use and crucial for engineering and design. However, its lower refresh rate makes it less ideal for fast-paced gaming or 3D rendering. On the other hand, the HP Omen 17, while offering a high-quality display suitable for general tasks and with acceptable color coverage for professional work, also falls short for gaming and 3D applications due to a subpar refresh rate.

How the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and the HP Omen 17 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet with powerful Alder Lake i9 CPU. The ROG Flow Z13 impresses with its good cooling. After our review, the impression is predominantly positive. Besides a very fast Alder Lake CPU and stable gaming performance, especially the cooling system is surprisingly effective and quiet. You can use the integrated speakers without any issues while gaming. The 1200p display in the 16:10 format also impresses with good color reproduction and high brightness. Since the battery runtimes aren't particularly long as it is, we wouldn't recommend the optional 4K panel."
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
