The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is more expensive but offers better portability and higher performance for tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and other engineering applications when compared to the Dell G15 5520. The ASUS also features a touchscreen and superior battery life. On the contrary, the Dell G15 is less expensive, heavier, and less portable but still provides decent performance for general use and gaming. However, its battery life isn't as long as the ASUS's. If you prioritize performance and portability and are willing to pay a premium, the ASUS could be an excellent choice. If cost and a larger screen size are more critical, and you're okay with a heavier laptop and shorter battery life, the Dell G15 may suit your needs better. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering screen quality for general use, the ASUS ROG Flow X13's higher resolution and brightness make visuals sharper and more vibrant compared to the Dell G15, which still performs well but may not be as crisp or bright. For engineering and design tasks where color accuracy is crucial, the ASUS ROG Flow X13's wider color gamuts ensure more precise color representation, an area where the Dell G15 provides satisfactory but less expansive color range. However, for gaming and 3D applications that benefit from fluid motion, the ASUS lags due to its lower refresh rate, while the Dell's refresh rate, although also not high, is paired with a resolution and panel type that still fall short for the most demanding visual tasks.

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 and Dell G15 5520 are both very good for engineering and design.
The ASUS ROG Flow X13, equipped with the AMD Ryzen 9 and Nvidia RTX 4070, offers excellent CPU and GPU performance for demanding engineering software, coupled with high screen resolution and quality which is beneficial for design work; its lightweight and convertible design enhances portability but might compromise on thermal management and speaker quality compared to heavier laptops. The Dell G15 5520 has a strong Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, which are suitable for engineering tasks, a larger screen size which is better for multitasking, but lacks the higher screen resolution and portability of the ASUS, thus offering a tradeoff between visual clarity, size, and ease of transport.

How the ASUS ROG Flow X13 and the Dell G15 5520 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Flow X13 is not an off-the-shelf convertible. This quickly becomes clear when you take a closer look at the technical specs. The AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS is a state-of-the-art SoC with 8 cores and 16 threads, which also makes the 2-in-1 interesting as a work device. With 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, gamers are also well taken care of. The dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q fits well into the overall concept and ensures a solid 3D performance. With the eGPU dock, which is equipped with a GeForce RTX 3080, the small convertible transforms into a full-fledged desktop replacement in terms of performance."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
