If portability is important to you, the Apple MacBook Air is lighter and has a higher portability score, making it easier to carry around. However, the Lenovo LOQ 16 offers more storage space, more RAM, and a better-suited processor and graphics card for intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering software. It also has a higher refresh rate display which is preferable for fast motion visuals, although it falls short in color accuracy compared to the MacBook Air. The MacBook excels in general use performance and has a longer battery life, but if you're focused on gaming or heavier tasks, the Lenovo's hardware may serve you better despite being heavier and having a shorter battery lifespan. The Lenovo LOQ 16 is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) is only fair.
The Lenovo LOQ 16 offers better gaming and 3D capabilities largely due to its Nvidia RTX 4050 graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate of 144 Hz, while the Apple MacBook Air 15's integrated M2 GPU and 60 Hz refresh rate are more suited to less graphically intensive tasks. Additionally, the MacBook Air runs MacOS, which doesn't support many popular games that are available on the Windows 11 Home operating system of the Lenovo LOQ 16.

The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo LOQ 16 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Air excels in screen quality for general use and engineering with its high-resolution display, offering clear, crisp images and a wide color spectrum that caters to precision tasks that professionals in design fields require. However, its lower refresh rate makes it less suitable for 3D applications where smooth motion is crucial. The Lenovo LOQ offers a balanced good screen experience across general and engineering use due to its respectable resolution and color reproduction but falls short for gaming and 3D work because of its limited refresh rate compared to specialized gaming laptops.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the Lenovo LOQ 16 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"Gaming laptops with an RTX 4060 are available starting from about 1,000 Euros (~$1,060), even in 16-inch format. For the supposedly affordable Lenovo LOQ 16 (1,500 Euros, ~$1,591), the manufacturer particularly saves in the equipment and materials compared to the more expensive Legion series. In addition, the LOQ is slightly heavier and more bulky. What remains is anything but a laptop full of difficult compromises. Instead, this is a more than solid gaming laptop that focusses on the 3D performance.Q is slightly heavier and more bulky."
