If you prioritize portability and a quieter, fanless laptop with a long battery life, the Apple MacBook Air might suit you. It also offers a high-quality display, adequate for general use and media consumption. However, if you prioritize higher performance for intensive tasks such as gaming, 3D modeling, or machine learning, and you need a more powerful dedicated graphics card and a higher amount of memory and storage, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 is the better option. This laptop is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable but more capable for demanding applications. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G16 stands out for gaming and 3D due to its powerful Nvidia RTX graphics card which excels in rendering and frame rates during intense gaming sessions, whereas the Apple MacBook Air 15 is less optimized for these tasks with a less powerful GPU and a lower screen refresh rate, which is capped at 60Hz. Furthermore, the screen quality and CPU in the ASUS are also superior, which, along with a high refresh rate screen, contribute to its better suitability for gaming, bearing in mind that many games are not compatible with macOS.

The Apple MacBook Air's screen offers high resolution and brightness, which gives it an advantage for general use and engineering tasks that require attention to detail and color accuracy. It falls short for 3D due to its lower refresh rate, which is less smooth for fast-moving images. In contrast, the ASUS ROG Strix's screen, while also providing good resolution and brightness for general tasks and accurate colors for engineering, may not be optimal for gaming or 3D work as it has a poor refresh rate, making it less suitable for action-packed visuals that benefit from smoother transitions.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the ASUS ROG Strix G16 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
