The Apple MacBook Air (2022) typically costs less and offers notable portability, thanks to its lighter weight and fanless operation, which ensures it runs silently. With an excellent battery life, it's well-suited for general use, particularly if you favor a macOS ecosystem and don't need touchscreen functionality. However, the HP Spectre x360, while pricier and heavier, grants you a larger screen with touch capability, a better processor, double the storage and RAM, and better suitability for more intensive tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning. It's a top pick if you're into engineering and creative work, especially with its robust cooling system and capacity for intensive gaming. Give Feedback

The HP Spectre x360 has a better screen than the Apple MacBook Air for content creation, and software development.
The MacBook Air (2022) excels in screen quality for general use and engineering tasks due to its high resolution, bright display, and wide color gamut that ensure crisp images and accurate color reproduction, but it lacks a high refresh rate which is essential for smooth rendering in 3D applications. The HP Spectre x360 shares similar strengths with a high-resolution, bright display that also covers a wide color spectrum, making it suitable for detailed work in engineering and design. However, its screen, like that of the MacBook Air, may not be optimal for gaming and 3D because its refresh rate isn't designed for the high-frame-rate demands of those applications.

The HP Spectre x360 and Apple MacBook Air (2022) are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The MacBook Air, with its M2 chip, offers fair 3D performance due to its integrated GPU designed for efficiency rather than high-end gaming or professional 3D applications, and it's constrained by a standard screen refresh rate and macOS limitations on gaming. Conversely, the HP Spectre x360 offers better gaming and 3D graphics with its more capable Iris Xe GPU, larger battery capacity for extended use, and Windows 11 compatibility, which provides broader support for popular games.

How the Apple MacBook Air (2022) and the HP Spectre x360 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
