If you value a higher-performance laptop suitable for 3D rendering, machine learning, or intensive gaming tasks, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is designed for such activities and has a strong graphics card to support that. However, it is heavier and has shorter battery life, which might affect portability if you need to work on the go. On the other hand, the Apple MacBook Air (2020) offers a lighter, slim design with longer battery life, making it ideal for everyday tasks and travel. It's also quieter since it operates without fans and is less expensive, but it won't match the Lenovo in handling highly demanding software or games. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Apple MacBook Air (2020) is only fair.
The Apple MacBook Air (2020) is fair for 3D because it relies on an integrated GPU which is less powerful compared to dedicated GPUs and has a standard screen refresh rate, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is very good for gaming and 3D, offering a high-end dedicated Nvidia graphics card and a much higher screen refresh rate, crucial for smooth gameplay, but many popular games do not run on the MacBook's MacOS, limiting its gaming potential. Additionally, the Lenovo's screen quality and CPU also outperform the MacBook Air, which makes it better suited for demanding tasks like gaming and 3D rendering.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is very good for engineering and design, while the Apple MacBook Air (2020) is good.
The Apple MacBook Air (2020) offers a good balance for engineering and design, with its efficient Apple M1 CPU and integrated GPU, high-resolution screen, and lightweight design; however, its lower RAM and storage may limit the complexity of tasks it can handle. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro stands out for more intensive engineering and design work with its higher RAM, powerful AMD Ryzen CPU, and dedicated Nvidia RTX GPU, which contribute to superior performance for demanding applications, yet it sacrifices portability and has a heavier build.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 has a better screen than the Apple MacBook Air for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The MacBook Air, with its high resolution and accurate color representation, offers a pleasant viewing experience for everyday tasks and professional design work but lacks the high refresh rate desirable for smooth 3D rendering. The Lenovo Legion Pro 5's larger color gamuts and superior brightness contribute to its excellent screen quality for both general use and demanding engineering software, although it falls short for gaming and 3D due to a less optimal refresh rate. Users interested in engineering and design will appreciate the color accuracy on both laptops, but for those focused on 3D applications, neither of these options is ideal due to the lower refresh rates.

How the Apple MacBook Air (2020) and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
