The Apple MacBook Air with the M1 chip is a pricier option with strong build quality, high-resolution display, excellent battery life, and silent operation due to its fanless design, making it highly portable and a good fit for general use and light engineering work. The HP 15" Laptop, on the other hand, offers a larger screen and a dedicated numeric keypad within a budget-friendly price range, but with reduced storage capacity and lower portability due to its heavier weight. It has a standard high-definition screen and average build quality, yet it's better for users needing a larger display and a lower price point, despite its shorter battery life and overall modest performance. The Apple MacBook Air has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The MacBook Air's screen boasts higher resolution and brightness, along with a wide color gamut, providing sharp, vibrant visuals for both general use and precision in engineering and design; however, its lower refresh rate hampers performance in 3D applications. The HP 15" Laptop, on the other hand, offers a fair resolution and brightness for adequately handling everyday tasks and some engineering work, but it struggles with color accuracy for professional design tasks and has a refresh rate that falls short for smooth, immersive 3D and gaming experiences. Trade-offs involve the MacBook Air's premium display quality for daily and professional use against the HP's modest screen capabilities that serve basic needs without excelling in specialized domains.

How the Apple MacBook Air (2020) and the HP 15" Laptop compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air M2 Entry is a very good, but too expensive daily MacBook. The new MacBook Air M2 is undoubtedly once again a very good mobile companion, but we are still a little bit disappointed on a very high level, which is definitely connected with the increased price point. The new chassis is extremely slim and the front edge is no problem during typing, but the bezels are pretty wide for a modern device and in addition with the vertical space required for the notch, the new Air has larger footprint than some Windows rivals."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
