The Acer Swift X (2022) is generally a slightly less expensive option that offers better portability due to its lighter weight and longer battery life. It has a higher-resolution display, which is great for general use and work tasks. On the other hand, the MSI Pulse GL66 has a more powerful graphics card, making it better for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning tasks, but it has a shorter battery life and is heavier, which might make it less convenient to carry around. Both laptops have similar storage, RAM, and are targeted for midrange buyers, so your choice should depend on whether portability and screen resolution (Acer Swift X) or better graphics performance and gaming (MSI GL66) are more important to you. The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the MSI Pulse GL66 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the MSI Pulse GL66 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift X offers a higher resolution and brightness that enhance the clarity and detail for general activities and viewing detailed engineering designs, with its superior panel type providing crisp images. However, for gaming and 3D tasks, its lower refresh rate can compromise smooth motion rendering. On the other hand, the MSI Pulse GL66, while providing decent brightness and sharpness for everyday and professional work, falls short for both color-sensitive engineering applications due to narrower color gamut coverage and for gaming because of the less optimal refresh rates affecting motion fluidity.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the MSI Pulse GL66 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The MSI Pulse GL66 has a lot of potential for improvement. Although the RTX 3060 is only able to use 105 watts, we still liked the gaming performance, particularly since this also makes the Pulse comfortably efficient but not slow by any means. Neither the dark display with its lame response times, nor USB 2.0 or the lack of Thunderbolt will please real gamers. The use of a sticker factory seal, which is at least questionable, also won't inspire any enthusiasm. It is obvious that the laptop is really designed for price-conscious gamers."
