The Acer Swift X (2022) is often somewhat more expensive and offers a balance between portability and power, making it suitable for general usage and moderate 3D tasks; it has a midrange processor and a capable graphics card. Its highlight is its portability, owing to its lighter weight and smaller screen. Conversely, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 is often somewhat less expensive, and with its high-end graphics card, it's more cut out for intensive gaming, 3D work, and machine learning tasks. However, it's heavier and bulkier, which makes it less portable. Both laptops have similar storage and RAM, but the Legion offers a better battery life and a higher screen refresh rate, which is beneficial for gaming and smooth visuals, at the expense of being larger and heavier. How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
