If the higher cost of the Acer Swift X (2023) is within your budget and you require strong performance for tasks like video editing, 3D modeling, or gaming, its likely more advanced hardware makes it a worthy investment. However, if portability and battery life are higher priorities over raw performance, or if your usage is limited to general tasks like web browsing, office applications, and media consumption, the HP 15" Laptop should suffice and save you money. Additionally, the HP may offer a better battery life due to its potentially less powerful components consuming less power, making it more suited for on-the-go usage where charging options are scarce. The Acer Swift X (2023) is good for general use, while the HP 15" Laptop is only fair.
The Acer Swift X (2023) outperforms the HP 15" Laptop in general use due to its more powerful processor, greater amount of RAM, and higher quality graphics, which enhance not only performance but also screen quality; it also offers a slightly larger screen and better portability with a lighter frame, despite having longer battery life. Conversely, the HP 15" Laptop compromises on these performance attributes, including a less robust CPU and RAM setup, which translates to lower effectiveness for general tasks, though it may still be adequate for users with minimal requirements.

The Acer Swift X (2023) is very good for engineering and design, while the HP 15" Laptop is only fair.
The Acer Swift X (2023) is better suited for engineering and design due to its superior main processor, double the RAM, and a dedicated graphics card, which significantly enhance performance for computing-intensive tasks, along with a higher-resolution display that offers better screen quality for detail-oriented work. In contrast, the HP 15" Laptop has a more basic processor, half the RAM, and uses integrated graphics, which, coupled with a lower-resolution screen, makes it less optimal for demanding engineering and design applications.

How the Acer Swift X (2023) and the HP 15" Laptop compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
