The Acer Swift X (2023) generally costs less and offers better performance in 3D and machine learning tasks due to its Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, compared to the Dell XPS 15's Intel Arc A370M. However, the XPS 15 has a larger screen and superior build and speaker quality. The Swift X is also more portable due to its lighter weight and offers a higher screen refresh rate which can be beneficial for certain tasks or gaming, while the XPS 15 provides a better keyboard experience. Both laptops have a battery life suited for typical usage, but your final choice will depend on weighing the importance of portability, screen size, build quality, and specific performance needs for your usage scenario. The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Dell XPS 15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Dell XPS 15 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize crisp visuals and vibrant colors for everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos, the Acer Swift X offers a screen with high resolution and brightness, making it a solid choice. For engineers and designers requiring precision in color representation, both laptops offer decent coverage of color gamuts needed for such tasks, but the Acer might have a slight edge. However, if fast-paced gaming or 3D rendering is your primary focus, neither of these laptops has a high refresh rate, making them less ideal for those activities.

How the Acer Swift X (2023) and the Dell XPS 15 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"The 2023 Dell XPS 15 is more or less exactly what you'd expect from the company flagship. Its fresh components deliver measurably superior power and longevity, while the machine's premium build and design remain intact. It may not be overly exciting, but XPS loyalists and upgraders should be more than happy."
