For robust performance in general use, engineering tasks, 3D rendering, and machine learning, the Acer Swift Go 14 offers a more powerful Intel i7 processor with superior integrated Iris Xe graphics, significantly more RAM, and ample storage, which makes it better suited for demanding applications and multitasking. It comes with a higher-resolution touch display that offers better color coverage. The Gateway 14.1" is more budget-friendly and has an Intel Celeron processor, with basic integrated graphics, less RAM, and lower storage, making it suitable for entry-level computing tasks. The Acer is lighter and thinner, providing better portability. Both laptops feature a similar screen size, but if longer battery life, a better keyboard, or more durable construction are essential, consider those aspects as each laptop will have different strengths in these areas. The Acer Swift Go 14 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The Acer Swift Go 14 offers fair gaming and 3D performance due to its more capable GPU, the Intel Iris Xe, and the Intel i7 processor, compared to the poor gaming capabilities of the Gateway 14.1" which uses a less powerful Intel UHD Graphics 600 GPU and a lower-end Intel Celeron processor. Both laptops have similar screen refresh rates and IPS screens, but the Acer's higher screen quality, with better brightness and color range, gives it the edge for gaming and 3D applications.

The Acer Swift Go 14 has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Swift Go 14 offers a high-resolution display with bright, vivid colors suitable for general tasks and engineering design, providing clarity and a wide range of colors that professionals need. However, its refresh rate falls short for 3D applications, where smoother motion provided by higher refresh rates is crucial. In contrast, the Gateway 14.1" delivers acceptable visibility and color for everyday tasks and design work, but like the Swift Go, it also lacks the high refresh rate necessary for optimal 3D gaming experiences.

"The Acer Swift Go 14 is a surprising machine. Its performance, display, and battery life leave little to be desired from a device at this price. You might think it’d be cheaper given the “Go” in the name, or thinner given its close competition with thin-and-light laptops, but it manages to strike a decent enough balance between its capabilities and hardware to really stand out as an exceptional value."
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
