The Acer Swift 3 offers a better value if you are looking for a more budget-friendly option, with similar storage and RAM to the Dell XPS 13, and it also comes with a touchscreen. However, the Dell XPS 13 boasts a more premium build, slightly higher portability due to its smaller size and lighter weight, and may have better audio and build quality. For tasks involving engineering, 3D rendering, or intensive computing, both laptops have similar capabilities, but for general use, the Dell XPS 13's higher-quality keyboard may stand out. If long battery life is a priority, the Acer Swift 3 edges out with slightly longer battery life for typical usage. Choose the Acer if you want to save money without sacrificing too much performance or if you need a touchscreen; opt for the Dell if you prioritize portability and a higher-end feel, and can stretch your budget. The Dell XPS 13 has a better screen than the Acer Swift 3 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Acer Swift 3 and Dell XPS 13 have displays that provide clear, sharp visuals suitable for everyday tasks and professional design work due to their high resolution and panel type, ensuring that details and text look crisp, which is essential for general use and precision needed in engineering tasks. They are equipped with panels that cover a wide range of colors, satisfying the requirements for designers who need accurate color representation for work involving Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. However, for gaming and 3D applications, these laptops may not deliver the most fluid experience, as their screens don't have the high refresh rates that reduce motion blur and provide smoother movement, which are prioritized in such use cases.

The Acer Swift 3 and Dell XPS 13 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift 3 and Dell XPS 13 both have integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics which offer modest performance for 3D applications and games; the two also have standard 60Hz screen refresh rates, which don't provide the smoother visuals that high-refresh rate displays do in gaming. While both laptops feature good CPUs and screen quality for everyday tasks, their GPU and screen refresh rates, which are very important for gaming and 3D performance, are more suited to general use rather than intensive gaming or professional 3D work.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the Dell XPS 13 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"In the past, the XPS 13 was a hands-down contender for the best laptop on the market. But the Apple-silicon MacBook has since barrelled onto the scene, and it wipes the floor with most of the ultraportable Windows laptops that cross my desk on a daily basis. This XPS is no exception. Compared to the M2 MacBook Air, battery life is worse."
