The Acer Swift 3 is a budget-friendly option that's lightweight, making it highly portable and well-suited for everyday tasks and general use. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 costs more but offers superior performance for demanding applications like 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming thanks to its high-end processor and graphics card, although it's heavier and less portable. If you prioritize performance and are engaged in more intensive tasks, the ASUS may serve you better, but if portability and value are your concerns, the Acer Swift 3 should suffice. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift 3 is only fair.
The Acer Swift 3 is fair for gaming and 3D tasks primarily due to its integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU, prone to struggle with demanding games and 3D applications, and a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate which is less fluid for fast-paced games. In contrast, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is very good for these tasks because it boasts a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, better equipped for intensive graphics processing, and a high 240Hz screen refresh rate for smoother visuals and more responsive gameplay.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Acer Swift 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
When considering general use, the Acer Swift 3's screen provides ample resolution and brightness for comfortable daily tasks, while the Asus ROG Strix G17 offers a higher resolution and greater brightness, enhancing visibility and detail. For engineering and design work, both laptops offer good color representation, crucial for precision, but the Asus has a slight edge with wider color gamuts, rendering more accurate and vivid colors. However, for immersive 3D experiences and gaming, despite good resolution and color, their screens fall short due to lower refresh rates, leading to less fluid motion compared to models specifically designed for gaming.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the ASUS ROG Strix G17 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
