The Acer Predator Helios 16 and ASUS ROG Strix G17 have similar performance for general use, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, with the Acer having a slight edge in general computing and the ASUS better for gaming. The Acer is more portable, but both have short battery lives, so they are less ideal for long periods away from power outlets. Both have high-quality displays and similar storage and RAM, but if screen size is important, the ASUS has a larger 17.3-inch display compared to the Acer's 16-inch screen. They are similarly priced, so the decision may hinge on whether portability or screen size is more important to you. Give Feedback

For general use, both the Acer Predator Helios 16 and the ASUS ROG Strix G17 offer high-resolution displays with quality panels that deliver sharp images and good brightness, providing a clear and vibrant viewing experience for everyday tasks. In the context of engineering and design, these laptops excel with color-accurate displays covering a wide range of the color spectrum, which is crucial for professionals who need precise color representation for their work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, their screens fall short due to lower refresh rates, leading to less fluid motion and slower response times which are key for fast-paced visuals in high-end gaming or 3D rendering.

How the Acer Predator Helios 16 and the ASUS ROG Strix G17 compare to other laptops
"The Predator Helios 16 stacks up well against its closest competition in benchmark comparisons. The Acer Predator Helios 16 isn't perfect. It's bulky, its lid feels flimsy and some of its keys are just too damned small – but none of its problems are fatal, and it shines where it counts. The powerful graphics and processor combo are spot on for this price point, the fans stop it getting hot under pressure, and the display is as good as you’ll find under $2,500. It's simply one of the best laptops to play demanding games on."
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
