Choosing the Acer Nitro 5 17 means opting for a gaming-oriented laptop with a large screen, significant storage, and a powerful Nvidia graphics card, but it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable. The HP Spectre x360, though slightly more expensive, offers a more compact and lightweight design with a high-resolution touchscreen, longer battery life, and is suitable for general use with efficient heat management. Consider the Spectre for regular mobility and versatile use or the Nitro for gaming and performance-intensive tasks where portability is secondary. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 is good for gaming and AI, while the HP Spectre x360 is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 5 17, equipped with a high-end Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU and a high screen refresh rate, is ideal for gaming and 3D applications that demand top-tier graphics performance. On the other hand, the HP Spectre x360, although featuring a capable Intel Iris Xe GPU, excels in screen quality with its high resolution but trades off some graphics performance and refresh speed against the Acer, making it more suitable for general use rather than intensive gaming.

The Acer Nitro 5 17 has a better screen than the HP Spectre x360 for gaming and AI, while the HP Spectre x360 has a better screen for engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When evaluating these laptops, the Acer Nitro 5 17's screen offers good resolution and brightness for daily activities, but its color coverage isn't as extensive as the HP Spectre x360, which explains the Spectre's superior performance for engineering and design tasks that demand precise color accuracy. Despite good general quality, neither laptop has a high refresh rate which is vital for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications, leading to their screens being less suitable for these specific uses. The panel type on both likely contributes to their overall good visual quality, but without advanced gaming features, they fall short for serious gaming or 3D rendering.

In contrast, the HP Spectre x360, with a powerful CPU and high-resolution touchscreen, is more portable, has better build quality, and serves as a versatile 2-in-1 device, but its integrated graphics may not handle intensive tasks as well as the Nitro.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the HP Spectre x360 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
