The Acer Nitro 5 17, being less expensive, offers a larger 17.3-inch screen and a powerful Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU, suitable for intense gaming and engineering applications, albeit with a shorter battery life and a heavier build which affects portability. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, while more expensive, has a more recent processor, longer battery life, and is lighter, making it more portable. Its Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU is also capable for gaming and engineering tasks, and it comes with Windows 11. Consider the larger screen and GPU of the Acer if gaming is pivotal, or the ASUS for more portable, all-around performance with longer battery life. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 5 17 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Acer Nitro 5 17's superior brightness and resolution enhance viewing and productivity experiences, making it well-suited for general tasks. Its decent color gamut coverage aids in engineering and design work, where color accuracy is vital, but it falls short for gaming and 3D applications due to a lackluster refresh rate. On the other hand, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15, while adequate for daily tasks, might not deliver the same level of detail or brightness as the Acer; and though it's somewhat serviceable for design purposes, its shortcomings in refresh rate also hinder a premium gaming or 3D rendering experience.

How the Acer Nitro 5 17 and the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 17 is a solid mid-range gamer. The Nitro 5 does not belong to the top group of RTX 3070 notebooks: Compared with the RTX 3070 notebooks tested so far, the computer delivers below-average frame rates - this is due to the 100-watt TGP. The GPU performance can be increased a bit with a firmware update. The device scores with a high level of CPU performance. Throttling is not a concern. CPU and GPU can produce their performance constantly. The laptop heats up moderately under load. The noise development is on the usual class level."
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
