If you need a laptop mainly for gaming or resource-intensive tasks like video editing, the Acer Nitro 17 with stronger graphics and processing power will serve you better, albeit at a higher price. However, it will be larger and heavier thus less portable. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" is more affordable and easier to carry around, which is ideal for everyday tasks like browsing, document editing, and media consumption, but it won’t handle demanding applications as well. Expect longer battery life with the Lenovo due to its lower power consumption. Give Feedback

PCMag

Mark Knapp | October 2023
"The Acer Nitro 17 isn't an exceptional gaming laptop; it's kind of chunky even among 17.3-inch notebooks, with a lackluster keyboard, and it doesn't outperform comparably priced machines. But there's a lot to like about it, including a good array of ports, a screen that's sharp and bright for work and play alike, and battery life that soundly beats the competition. All this comes at an affordable price. If size and weight aren't big concerns, you'll find the Nitro 17 a dependable big-screen gaming rig. If you crave higher quality, consider a slight step down or up in screen size with the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 or Alienware m18 respectively."

Tom Brant | August 2021
"The IdeaPad 1 14 is a simple machine, but it’s well-designed and has nearly everything you’d expect from a no-nonsense laptop that allows you to check emails and get schoolwork or other light tasks done with relative ease. A "true" 128GB SSD (as opposed to an eMMC drive) and a roomy 14-inch full HD display are arguably the star attractions, with the comfortable keyboard and reasonably modern styling playing important backup roles."
