The Acer Aspire 5 17 is more affordable, has a larger 17-inch screen, and is suitable for common tasks with moderate battery life, making it a good option if you want a budget-friendly laptop with a big screen for everyday use and occasional media consumption. On the other hand, the Eluktronics RP-15 is pricier, comes with a smaller 15.6-inch screen but higher resolution, and is geared towards high performance with a stronger processor and dedicated graphics card suited for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, although this may affect its battery life and portability. If you need a machine for heavier workloads and can manage the higher cost and reduced screen size, the RP-15 is a more capable choice. Give Feedback

The Eluktronics RP-15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 is less suited for gaming and 3D applications primarily due to its Intel Iris Xe graphics, which are less powerful than the Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics found in the Eluktronics RP-15, which significantly enhances gaming and 3D performance. Additionally, the RP-15 has a higher screen refresh rate, providing a smoother visual experience during fast-paced gaming compared to the Aspire 5 17's standard rate.

The Eluktronics RP-15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Eluktronics RP-15 outshines the Acer Aspire 5 17 in engineering and design tasks due to its higher-end AMD Ryzen 7 processor, dual the RAM, and a significantly better Nvidia RTX GPU, which are crucial for intensive tasks like 3D modeling and simulations. Plus, the RP-15 sports a superior screen with greater resolution, brightness, and color coverage essential for precise design work, albeit being somewhat less portable and possibly noisier under load given its powerful hardware.

The Eluktronics RP-15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering a laptop for general use, the Eluktronics RP-15 stands out with a higher resolution and brighter display, making it more vibrant and sharp, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a satisfactory experience appropriate for everyday tasks. For engineering and design, the RP-15's display covers a wider range of colors, essential for accurate visual work, whereas the Aspire's color representation is more limited. If gaming or working with 3D applications is a priority, the RP-15's higher refresh rate provides a smoother visual experience, but remember that both laptops have the same limitations with respect to screen quality in this regard due to moderate resolutions and panel types that are not top-tier for gaming.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Eluktronics RP-15 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"To conclude, I’m genuinely impressed with Eluktronics and what they have been able to deliver with the RP-15. You see this is all about maximizing performance, cooling, and giving users the most flexible I/O, and then wrapping it into a chassis that doesn’t feel super cheap. Let’s also not forget the price point, I think they have really nailed it in that department."
