The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a larger screen and a dedicated number pad which is convenient for productivity tasks; however, it is less portable and has a shorter battery life compared to the ASUS Zenbook 13. The Zenbook, being lighter with longer battery life, an OLED display for better colors and contrast, and a more powerful processor, is suited for on-the-go use and demanding applications. Both have the same storage and memory, supporting general use. The Acer is usually less expensive, so if budget and a larger screen are priorities over portability and display quality, it may be the better choice. Give Feedback

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers ASUS Zenbook 13 to be good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 17 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers solid CPU and GPU performance suitable for engineering and design, but its larger screen and portability score suggest it's less convenient to carry; the screen quality is fair with an IPS panel which is good for design work, though not top-tier. The ASUS Zenbook 13, on the other hand, has a high-quality OLED screen, making it excellent for design accuracy, alongside a powerful CPU and GPU for demanding tasks, all in a more portable package, but compared to some engineering-specific laptops, it may fall short in terms of raw power for the most intensive workloads.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the ASUS Zenbook 13 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The Asus ZenBook 13 is a compact 13-inch laptop with a fast Ryzen 7 5800U and OLED display. The subnotebook is also light and the modern design is convincing. The selection of high-quality materials make the device not only light, but also very stable. In addition, the visuals and haptics of the device offers a high-quality impression. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800U is a very good fit for the ZenBook 13, ensuring a high performance in the test. However, in terms of the 3D performance, we also notice that the Vega architecture is beginning to hit its limits."
