The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is significantly less expensive, providing a budget option with moderate storage, memory, and a basic processor suitable for general use activities. Its lighter weight and smaller screen make it more portable, but it may not handle intensive tasks well. In contrast, the HP Spectre x360, while more costly, offers larger storage, more memory, and a higher-end processor, making it more capable of handling demanding engineering or 3D/machine learning tasks. It also has a larger, higher-resolution screen, potentially making it less portable but better for productivity and entertainment. Give Feedback

The HP Spectre x360 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers an adequate display that meets the needs of everyday tasks and some professional work, thanks to its resolution and brightness, but may lack the wide color range critical for precision in engineering and design. The HP Spectre x360 provides a high-quality visual experience with sharper resolution and better brightness, coupled with a broader color palette which is essential for accurate color representation in engineering and design projects. However, both models fall short for gaming and 3D applications, as their refresh rates are not high enough to deliver the fluid motion graphics that these activities demand.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
