If your priority is to save money and you need a laptop for general use with the versatility of a 2-in-1 device that can turn into a tablet, go for the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14. However, if you require top-notch performance for engineering, 3D work, or gaming, and don't mind spending extra, the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo with its more powerful processor and better display would be more suitable. The Acer is lighter and quieter with its fanless design, making it more portable, while the ASUS has higher graphics capabilities and a dual-screen feature which might appeal to creative professionals. The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers a decent display with adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos, but it lacks the wider color gamut and higher resolution that the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo provides, which is crucial for precise color work in engineering and design. How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 Duo compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is a well-tuned instrument for content creators, excelling at a range of general office tasks as well as tasks that require a little more grunt like encoding and 3D rendering. The big attraction is the laptop’s dual displays. They’re the best ones we’ve used in an Asus Zenbook Duo laptop to date with a spate of year-on-year improvements that make the visuals more striking and the cross-screen integration easier than ever before."
