The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is more budget-friendly and lightweight, making it highly portable and suitable for general use like web browsing and document editing with its efficient but less powerful processor. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, although pricier and heavier, offers significantly better performance suitable for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks due to its high-end processor and robust graphics card. The TUF F15 also provides a larger storage capacity but has a shorter battery life compared to the Aspire 3 Spin 14, which trades off performance for longer battery life and lower weight for easier carrying. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 provides adequate clarity and brightness for everyday tasks and media consumption, while the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 offers a more vivid experience suitable for movies and detailed content. In engineering and design work where color accuracy matters, both displays lack the wide color gamuts necessary for precision editing, but the higher resolution of the ASUS can be beneficial for finer details. When it comes to 3D tasks and gaming, neither laptop excels due to the lower refresh rates but the ASUS's superior panel type offers a slightly better visual experience.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
