The Acer Aspire 3 15 is a more budget-friendly option that offers a reasonable level of performance for everyday tasks, featuring an AMD Ryzen 3 processor and decent storage space. However, the LG Ultra 16, while more costly, provides a significant boost in performance with its AMD Ryzen 7 processor and double the storage space, which could be better for more demanding applications and multitasking. It also has a larger and higher-resolution display which might offer a better viewing experience. If you prioritize a lighter and thinner laptop with longer battery life, the LG Ultra 16 excels in portability compared to the Acer Aspire 3 15. For general use and casual computing, the Acer could be sufficient; for more intensive tasks like engineering, 3D modeling, or heavier multitasking, investing in the LG might be the better choice. The LG Ultra 16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for content creation, and software development.
When considering a laptop for general use, a vibrant, clear display is essential for activities like browsing, watching videos, and handling documents; if a laptop has a screen that is not sharp or bright, it may be considered as having fair quality. For engineering and design work, professionals require screens that are capable of displaying a wide range of colors accurately, and without this wide color coverage, even if the resolution and panel type are decent, the quality would be seen as fair. For gaming and 3D applications, a high refresh rate is crucial for smooth visuals and if this is lacking, regardless of the screen's resolution and panel quality, the experience is less optimal, leading to a poor screen quality assessment.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
