The Acer Aspire 3 15 is often significantly less expensive than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", which may be a deciding factor if you're on a strict budget. However, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 has more storage and RAM, and a better main processor, which makes it more suitable for intensive tasks and multitasking. Both have similar battery capacities and screen sizes, but the Lenovo's screen offers touch functionality and is brighter, improving the experience in various lighting conditions. While both are fairly portable, the Lenovo is slightly lighter. If longer battery life and touch screen are important to you and you don't mind spending more, you might prefer the Lenovo; otherwise, if budget is your main concern, the Acer would be a more cost-effective choice. The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has a more powerful CPU, more RAM, and a touch screen, leading to a better general use experience compared to the Acer Aspire 3 15, which, despite being portable and having a silent operation, offers lower performance due to its less powerful CPU and lesser RAM. Additionally, the IdeaPad's superior screen quality, with higher brightness and touch functionality, enhances its usability over the Aspire 3, which has a lower brightness display without touch capability.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, with a less powerful AMD Ryzen 3 processor and Radeon 610M graphics, is more suited for less demanding engineering tasks, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" packs a stronger AMD Ryzen 7 processor and integrated Vega 8 graphics, making it better for more intensive design work; however, both have adequate RAM and full HD IPS displays for clear visuals. Portability and keyboard quality are good for both, but if a quieter operating environment is preferred, the Acer Aspire 3 15's silent operation might be favored.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 and Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15 both have adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, which makes their screen quality fair for general use. However, for engineering and design, where accurate color representation is crucial, both laptops fall short as they lack wide color gamuts, resulting in only fair screen quality. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the importance of a high refresh rate becomes paramount for smooth visuals, and since both models don't excel in this regard, their screens are considered poor for these uses.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 has a dedicated AMD Radeon 610M GPU with a fair screen contrast ratio, which is beneficial for gaming and 3D applications, though it has a standard refresh rate and screen resolution may limit visual fluidity and detail. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" relies on integrated graphics with the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Vega 8, which provides adequate performance for light gaming and 3D work, and while the screen is brighter than the Acer, the overall gaming and 3D performance may still be constrained by the same screen refresh rate and resolution limitations.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
