The Acer Aspire 3 15 is a budget-friendly option best suited for general use, with adequate performance for basic tasks thanks to its AMD Ryzen processor and Radeon graphics. However, its more affordable price means it also has a smaller storage capacity. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15 is priced in the lower midrange but offers significantly improved performance with an Intel Core i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics, making it a better fit for more intensive tasks like 3D work, machine learning, and gaming. Additionally, it boasts a higher refresh rate display, which is beneficial for smooth visuals in gaming and video playback. With the extra cost, the HP Victus also includes a larger battery and more storage space, which are useful for users with higher data and portability needs. However, it is heavier than the Acer, impacting its portability. Choose the Acer for casual use and if looking for a more wallet-friendly option, or opt for the HP if you need better performance, screen quality, and storage for more demanding applications. The HP Victus 15 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15's AMD Ryzen 3 CPU and integrated Radeon graphics deliver fair performance suitable for basic tasks, and it is relatively lightweight making it easier to carry, but it offers less storage and a screen with lower quality color reproduction compared to the HP Victus 15. The latter, with its Intel i5 CPU and dedicated Nvidia graphics, provides good performance even for more demanding software, enhanced by superior screen quality, but it is heavier and less portable, which might be a compromise for users frequently on the move.

The HP Victus 15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Acer Aspire 3's screen provides adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, but its color reproduction and panel quality might not satisfy professionals in engineering or design fields seeking precise color accuracy. The HP Victus 15 boasts a higher quality display with better brightness and sharper images for general use, but like the Acer, it falls short in color gamut for those specializing in color-critical work. For gaming and 3D rendering, both laptops may disappoint due to lower refresh rates, which impacts the smoothness and responsiveness of on-screen action.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the HP Victus 15 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
