If you value performance and plan to use the laptop for gaming, 3D rendering, or machine learning, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is the better option. It comes with a stronger processor, more RAM, and a higher-end graphics card, allowing for demanding applications and games. However, it is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable than the Acer Aspire 3 15. On the other hand, the Acer Aspire 3 15 is more affordable, offers a longer battery life, and is lighter, making it suited for general use and good for carrying around, but it might not handle intensive tasks as effectively. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 is equipped with an entry-level CPU and graphics, lower RAM, and a modest storage capacity, making it suitable for basic or light use; it benefits from a fair battery life and silent operation, enhancing its use in quiet environments without frequent charging. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 boasts a high-performance CPU and powerful GPU, larger RAM, and ample storage, offering better multitasking and handling demanding tasks, but this comes at the cost of decreased portability due to its heavier weight and a somewhat shorter battery life.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15's screen, while adequate in resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, may lack the color accuracy and range needed for professional engineering and design work where precise color representation is crucial. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 offers a better viewing experience for general use due to its higher quality display, but its fair performance in engineering and design suggests it doesn't fully cover the professional color gamuts. For gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short because of their lower refresh rates, which can impede the smooth visual experience that fast-paced or highly detailed visuals demand.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
