The Acer Aspire 1 is much less expensive and offers solid performance for general use, it's lightweight and has a decent battery life, but it's not suitable for intensive tasks or gaming and has limited storage and RAM. The Lenovo Legion Slim 5, on the other hand, is much more expensive but provides strong performance suitable for 3D rendering, engineering, and gaming, a better display with higher refresh rate, and more RAM and storage. It's heavier and less portable than the Acer Aspire 1, so if portability is key and you use your laptop for basic tasks, the Acer might be preferable, but if you need high performance and are willing to spend more, the Lenovo is the better option. CNET

Joshua Goldman | May 2020
"There are no surprises and nothing's extraordinary here but this laptop's price. For those in need of an inexpensive Windows laptop for undemanding tasks, though, the Acer Aspire 1 offers just enough to get the basics done and a larger screen to do them on."

PCMag

Mark Knapp | August 2023
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
