If you need a laptop for basic tasks like browsing the internet or using office applications, and you would prefer to spend less money, the Acer Aspire 1 could meet your needs with its budget-friendly price. However, the HP Victus 15 is better for more demanding activities such as gaming or video editing, thanks to its more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card. The HP model does come with a higher price tag and may offer better performance for intensive tasks. Keep in mind the HP Victus 15 also typically has a higher quality display and a faster screen refresh rate, which can provide a smoother visual experience, while the Acer Aspire 1 is lighter and may offer longer battery life, making it more portable. The HP Victus 15 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 1 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 1 is hindered by its less powerful Intel Celeron processor, lower RAM, and lower-quality TN screen, making it less suitable for multitasking and high-demand applications compared to the HP Victus 15 which boasts a more advanced Intel i5 processor, double the RAM, and a superior IPS display. Furthermore, while the Acer Aspire 1's light weight and fanless design enhance its portability and reduce operating noise, the HP Victus 15 compensates for its slightly heavier build with better performance for a variety of tasks, a higher quality keyboard, and more efficient heat management.

The HP Victus 15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 1 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 1 falls short in screen quality across all uses due to lower resolution and brightness, making it less suitable for tasks requiring visual precision. The HP Victus 15 offers a better viewing experience for general tasks with its higher resolution and brighter display, improving readability and media consumption. However, its limited color gamut and modest refresh rate might not meet the demands of professionals in engineering and design or provide the fluid visuals desired by gamers and those working with 3D applications.

"There are no surprises and nothing's extraordinary here but this laptop's price. For those in need of an inexpensive Windows laptop for undemanding tasks, though, the Acer Aspire 1 offers just enough to get the basics done and a larger screen to do them on."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
