Considering the Audio Technica ATH M20X and the Skullcandy Dime 2, the decision should be made based on your priorities. The ATH M20X are headphones that provide a good sound experience with better isolation due to their over-ear design, which is practical for quiet listening environments or professional settings, but they are bulkier and may be less convenient for travel. On the other hand, the Dime 2 are earbuds that offer portability and ease of use, along with being better suited for physical activities due to their compact size. The Dime 2 also provides wireless connectivity, a built-in microphone for calls, and is significantly more affordable. Therefore, if budget and convenience for active use are your concerns, Skullcandy Dime 2 would be suitable, while for a potentially better sound experience and isolation, especially in noisy environments, you might prefer the Audio Technica ATH M20X despite their higher cost. Soundguys

Jasper Lastoria | September 2023
"Audio-Technica positively defies what you can expect for around $50. Ultimately, Audio-Technica did not design the ATH-M20x to go on the subway with you. It’s for the budget-conscious, do-it-yourself producer, podcaster, or studio that needs to buy tracking cans in bulk. If you don’t need the most deluxe, comfortable headphones, maybe you’ll like the ATH-M20x for its spartan functionality. The headphones are aimed at giving you the minimum requirements without it feeling like a sacrifice."

"With the low price, it’s a low-risk investment. The Dime 2 is a decent set of backup buds for those times when you don’t want to risk your more upscale buds. If it weren’t for the lackluster battery life, I’d say everyone should have a pair as a spare for music."
