The Sony A95K is a high-end OLED TV that offers excellent overall picture quality, contrast, and viewing angles, and it excels in both gaming and movie watching. It's better suited for darker rooms, though it also performs well enough in bright rooms. Its higher cost reflects the premium features, including better sound and build quality. The TCL S470G is a budget-friendly LCD TV that provides adequate performance across various content but falls short in picture quality, especially in dark rooms. It has lower brightness and contrast, and a narrower viewing angle than the Sony. This TV is more cost-effective, but the tradeoff is a significant drop in performance compared to the Sony A95K. Caleb Denison | March 2022
"A95K will be one of the highest-performing TVs of the year, if not the hottest TV of 2022. The color on the Sony A95K is the most accurate I have ever seen. Certain hues of red just haven’t been produced on a TV … until now. Perhaps with deeper scrutiny, I may one day find some nit to pick, but in the time I was able to spend with the A95K, I was simply thrilled."

Stratos Kampourogiannis | November 2023
"On the bright side the S4 does have great viewing angles that can make it an excellent family TV. It has great color coverage, its input lag is extremely low, it supports Dolby Vision and comes with Google TV."

About Sony

Sony stands as a highly experienced and widely trusted TV manufacturer, earning a reputation that surpasses all others. A Japanese company, Sony has been making TVs for far longs than it has been making Playstation game consoles. Sony's high-end TVs are often regarded as the ultimate choice for videophiles, representing the epitome of quality, albeit at a premium price point. Renowned for their advanced and precise motion handling, as well as their cutting-edge local dimming algorithms, Sony consistently delivers unparalleled performance in these areas. They include Google TV software with all their TV sets, which grants access to the largest selection of apps available and they also include Bravia Core which is a movie streaming platform specifically for Sony TVs that offers higher picture quality by using more bandwidth.

About TCL

TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
