The Samsung QN85B, despite being more expensive, provides superior picture quality for bright rooms and has better capabilities for gaming, with faster response times and less input lag. It also boasts a higher brightness level, both in standard and high dynamic range (HDR), and more advanced local dimming—great for those looking to enjoy movies or gaming in varying light conditions. However, if budget is a primary concern and you mostly watch news or animations in brighter rooms, then the Samsung Q60A could be sufficient. The Q60A has good overall picture quality but falls short in gaming performance and dark room viewing compared to the QN85B. Additionally, the Q60A's sound quality isn't as robust. So, if you can invest more for enhanced features, especially for mixed-use and brighter environments, consider the QN85B; otherwise, for average viewing needs and tighter budgets, the Q60A is a competent choice. CNET

Geoffrey Morrison | June 2021
"The least expensive QLED is a solid choice for Samsung fans. Right out of the gate my eye was drawn to the Samsung. It is bright. The quantum dots let the Q60A produce far deeper, richer colors than the Vizio and TCL"

What Hi-Fi?

John Archer | February 2023
"Particularly key to this is the fact that black levels are unusually good, on a level we haven’t seen from any IPS TV before. Build quality is impressive too, with a gleaming silver metallic frame and stand, and enough heft to suggest plenty of quality innards. High dynamic range content jumps off the screen with enough luminosity and intensity to really sell what makes HDR special."
