If you're looking for a monitor for competitive gaming and are sensitive to pricing, the Asus PG27AQDM with its lower cost and high refresh rate makes an excellent choice. However, it's not the best pick for productivity due to its smaller size and lower resolution. In contrast, the Asus PG34WCDM offers a larger, ultrawide screen which is great for immersion in gaming and for multitasking in productivity, but it comes at a higher price. Both are suitable for HDR gaming and have similar color performance for photo editing, but the PG34WCDM's additional screen real estate may be more beneficial for media consumption and multitasking. "It’s hard to find any fault with the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDM. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s incredibly good. With a stunning image and next-level video performance, it’s one of the very best gaming monitors I’ve ever reviewed."
