If precise colors for digital photo editing are crucial for you, the Asus PA279CRV with its high color gamut accuracy would be beneficial, whereas the LG 34GN850B's wider screen and higher refresh rate caters better to an immersive gaming experience with smoother motion. For productivity, the Asus's higher resolution might offer more screen real estate, but the LG's ultrawide display could provide a more expansive view for multitasking. Neither monitor is ideal for HDR gaming or video editing due to their limited brightness and color volume. If budget is a concern, the Asus provides valuable features at a lower price, but the LG could be worth the investment for gaming enthusiasts. Give Feedback

Display Ninja

Rob Shafer | September 2023
"The ASUS PA279CRV is an excellent value 4K IPS monitor for color-critical work involving sRGB, Rec.709, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces. On top of that, it features rich connectivity options, a robust design and plenty of additional features."

TechSpot

Tim Schiesser | August 2020
"Mid-range 3440 x 1440 144Hz VA monitors are ~$500 to $600 these days. You are getting a much better product for the higher price of the LG, with faster response times and better colors (outside of the contrast ratio), but this is definitely a monitor that is reserved for those that want the best of the best and are willing to pay for it."
