The MSI GP66 Leopard is often less expensive and might appeal to those on a tighter budget looking for solid performance. In contrast, the Razer Blade 14 of 2023 typically costs more but offers a higher quality build and a more portable design suitable for intensive gaming and other demanding tasks. If budget is a key concern, the MSI could be appealing, whereas if you prioritize longevity, build quality, and a sleek form factor for higher-end applications, the Razer Blade could be the better option. Keep in mind that both will handle general use and engineering tasks effectively, but intense 3D, machine learning, or gaming might benefit from the extra investment in the Razer Blade 14. The Razer Blade 14 has a better screen than the MSI GP66 Leopard for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The MSI GP66 Leopard's display offers good resolution and brightness, which makes it well-suited for everyday tasks and engineering applications, but it lacks higher color gamut coverage critical for precise design work. The Razer Blade 14 steps up with superior color accuracy and a brighter screen, enhancing the visual experience both for casual use and professional design, but neither laptop has a high refresh rate screen, which is essential for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D rendering. As a result, while both are competent for general use and satisfactory for engineering and design, gamers and 3D artists may find the screen's refresh rate limiting their experience.

"The MSI GP66 Leopard is a good budget high-performance gamer. The MSI also does a lot right outside of the pure performance despite it's low price. For example, the adaptive cooling system really surprised us positively, even in Extreme Performance Mode. And the display is not a budget panel either, but at least outshines the competition in terms of brightness. Of course, you also have to accept a few compromises in this price category. These include the Leopard's poor battery runtimes and the less than optimal build quality, which is also noticeable in the more complicated maintenance."
"After making a huge splash with the original 2021 model, it's expected that the 2022 refresh would be more of a minor update to an already impressive machine. It adds a higher resolution webcam (720p to 1080p), faster CPU (Ryzen 9 5900HX to Ryzen 9 6900HX), faster GPU (RTX 3070/3080 to 3070/3080 Ti), faster RAM (DDR4-3200 to DDR5-4800), faster M.2 SSD support (PCIe3 x4 to PCIe4 x4), newer WLAN module (Killer AX1690i to Qualcomm WCN685x), and a MUX switch for the new integrated Radeon 680M GPU. It's indubitably an upgrade especially in terms of single-thread processor performance."
