If portability is a priority for you, the MSI Katana 15 is slightly heavier than the MSI Pulse GL66 but not by a significant margin. When considering performance for general use, 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering tasks, the Pulse GL66 has a slight edge, with a more robust main processor. However, the Katana 15 offers double the storage capacity. Both laptops have similar battery life and screen quality, but gaming enthusiasts might prefer the Pulse GL66's appearance. If budget is a concern, the Katana 15 typically comes at a lower cost while still delivering reasonable performance for a variety of tasks. Give Feedback

The MSI Katana 15 has a better screen than the MSI Pulse GL66 for software development.
For general use, both the MSI Pulse GL66 and MSI Katana 15 offer adequate resolution and brightness to comfortably handle everyday tasks like browsing and document editing, but their panel types are not premium, which might affect viewing angles and color reproduction. In engineering and design, while these laptops can manage basic tasks, professionals may find the less vibrant color gamuts limiting for precision work requiring accurate color representation. Gamers and 3D designers, who often prioritize smooth motion and quick refreshes, may be disappointed with these laptops' lower refresh rates, which can detract from the fluidity and responsiveness during fast-paced scenes or detailed 3D modeling.

How the MSI Pulse GL66 and the MSI Katana 15 compare to other laptops
"The MSI Pulse GL66 has a lot of potential for improvement. Although the RTX 3060 is only able to use 105 watts, we still liked the gaming performance, particularly since this also makes the Pulse comfortably efficient but not slow by any means. Neither the dark display with its lame response times, nor USB 2.0 or the lack of Thunderbolt will please real gamers. The use of a sticker factory seal, which is at least questionable, also won't inspire any enthusiasm. It is obvious that the laptop is really designed for price-conscious gamers."
"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
