The MSI GF65 Thin is less expensive, lighter, and has better endurance due to its higher portability score, making it suitable for general use and mobility-focused users. In contrast, the MSI Pulse GL66 has more RAM, a stronger processor, and a more powerful graphics card, which translates to better performance for 3D, machine learning, and engineering tasks, as well as gaming, but it comes with an added expense and lower portability. The MSI Pulse GL66 is good for general use, while the MSI GF65 Thin is only fair.
The MSI GF65 Thin has a lower-tier CPU and half the RAM of the MSI Pulse GL66, which may limit its performance in demanding tasks; however, it offers a fairly portable design with a decent battery life. On the other hand, the Pulse GL66, while slightly less portable due to its higher weight, compensates with a more powerful CPU and double the RAM for better multitasking, enhanced screen quality, and superior build and speaker quality, making it better suited for a range of general use applications.

The MSI Pulse GL66 has a better screen than the MSI GF65 Thin for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the MSI GF65 Thin and MSI Pulse GL66 have screens that offer acceptable resolution and brightness but may not have the desired premium panel type, leading to fair quality. In engineering and design, while the resolution is suitable, the color gamut coverage may not meet the high standards required for precise color work, thus being rated as fair. For gaming and 3D applications, although they are usable, their refresh rates are not high enough for the smoothest experience, and the resolution and panel type may not be top-tier, therefore considered poor for these specific demands.

How the MSI GF65 Thin and the MSI Pulse GL66 compare to other laptops
"The MSI GF65 Thin offers a GeForce RTX 3060 on a budget. The MSI GF65 is a relatively inexpensive RTX 3060 laptop and, perhaps not coincidentally, it also comes with a slower-than-average RTX 3060 GPU. Other laptops we've tested thus far with the same GPU are about 10 to 15 percent faster. CPU performance is also slightly slower than average unless if users decide to enable Cooler Boost mode. Colors, black-white response times, Thunderbolt, and DisplayPort are either average or completely omitted. Gamers who want to maximize performance-per-dollar without sacrificing RAM or SSD upgradeability will find the lightweight MSI GF65 attractive."
"The MSI Pulse GL66 has a lot of potential for improvement. Although the RTX 3060 is only able to use 105 watts, we still liked the gaming performance, particularly since this also makes the Pulse comfortably efficient but not slow by any means. Neither the dark display with its lame response times, nor USB 2.0 or the lack of Thunderbolt will please real gamers. The use of a sticker factory seal, which is at least questionable, also won't inspire any enthusiasm. It is obvious that the laptop is really designed for price-conscious gamers."
