The MSI GE66 Raider is a high-end laptop with superior performance, especially for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks due to its powerful CPU and GPU. It's more expensive and heavier, making it less portable, but offers a better screen and higher storage capacity. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 is more budget-friendly, lighter, and offers better portability but with less power, making it more suitable for general use and less demanding tasks. It lacks the advanced graphics capabilities of the Raider, which are essential for intensive gaming or professional graphic work. Give Feedback

The MSI GE66 Raider is excellent for engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The MSI GE66 Raider outshines the MSI Modern 14 for engineering and design due to its superior CPU, double the RAM, a high-end GPU, and a high-quality screen that offers better resolution, color accuracy, and contrast. While the Modern 14 is more portable and quieter in operation, its more modest specs in crucial areas like CPU, RAM, GPU, and screen quality make it less suitable for demanding engineering tasks.

The MSI GE66 Raider has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The MSI GE66 Raider excels for general use and engineering with a high-resolution display that offers vibrant color accuracy, which is crucial for detailed design work requiring precise color representation. However, for gaming and 3D, its lower refresh rate may lead to less smooth visuals, which can be detrimental to fast-paced or graphically intense experiences. Conversely, the MSI Modern 14 provides adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks and non-specialized engineering work but lacks the advanced color gamut and high refresh rate needed for professional-level design and high-end gaming.

"The MSI Raider GE66 12UHS notebook passes with flying colors. The GE66 is a high-end notebook with strong performance. The keyboard and trackpad are still very good and score well with precise inputs as well as high build quality. Thanks to a new liquid metal cooling solution, the Intel Core i9 12900HK brings a performance increase of around 50 percent over the predecessor's Intel Core i9 10980HK. The installed graphics card in our device delivers up to 30 percent higher frame rates than the RTX 2070 Super in the MSI GE66 10SFS."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
